What We Do

Did you know that about 80,000 people live below the poverty level right here in Worcester County?

Over 50,000 people, including many kids and elderly, must rely on the Worcester County Food Bank as a source of food each year. But the Food Bank doesn't have many sources of fresh vegetables.

The reason is that much of the 4 million pounds of food received by the Food Bank each year comes from overstocks and past-date-code items donated by supermarket chains and the food industry. But when vegetables in a supermarket get old, they must be thrown out!

We're here to help...

Community Harvest Project brings together volunteers - individuals and families, as well as school, church and civic groups - to grow healthy vegetables on our farms. Together, we grow tens of thousands of pounds of tomatoes, broccoli, cabbage, squash and other healthy foods, all of which are donated for hunger relief.
